Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s appointment of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman of its National Campaign Council for the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
The APC recently announced Uzodimma, who is also the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, to lead the party’s campaign ahead of the election scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Reacting to the development via his social media page, Davido said he had personal admiration for the Imo governor because he is from his wife’s state, but added that they would meet politically during the election.
The singer declared that even if the APC assembled 100,000 campaign council members, they would not be a match for him, writing: “Chai, and I like Hope o. My wife’s state. Hmmm. No worry, we go meet for field. U wish 100,000 of them no reach one Baddest.”
Davido also took a swipe at the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
In a post shared on his Instagram Story, the singer responded to an earlier remark credited to MC Oluomo by telling him he was only pretending, urging him to look at himself in the mirror.
Davido wrote: “@kingmcoluomo dem say u dey game… I doubt lol. Look ur mirror.”
The exchange came amid heightened political activities in Osun State ahead of the governorship election.
A few days earlier, Davido had also mocked former presidential aide Reno Omokri, describing him as a dog and a fowl following his comments during an interview over why he had yet to resume his diplomatic posting in Mexico.
The singer had equally criticised former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, describing him as the most desperate politician in the world, although he did not disclose what prompted the remark.
Davido has remained actively involved in Osun politics over the years, particularly in support of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke. During the last governorship election, he participated in campaign activities and openly celebrated Adeleke’s victory on social media.
