A Canada-based Nigerian woman, Mrs. Ezinne Nwanorue, has alleged that her husband, Franklin Nwanorue, continued an extramarital affair despite publicly taking an oath to remain faithful to their marriage.
Mrs. Nwanorue made the allegation in a post shared on her Facebook page, Ezinne Frank Nwanorue, on Thursday.
She claimed she had endured emotional pain in the marriage, noting that although her husband sponsored her relocation to Canada, she felt obligated to assist him in obtaining a Canadian visa.
The couple attracted widespread attention on Tuesday after releasing separate videos in which they vowed to remain faithful to each other, invoking death upon themselves if either became unfaithful.
In his video, Franklin Nwanorue declared that he would remain faithful to his wife after joining her in Canada. He also said he willingly accepted the public declaration because he believed his wife was acting on divine instruction and wanted the best for their family.
Mrs. Nwanorue also released a similar video, publicly pledging to remain sexually faithful to her husband throughout their marriage.
However, days after the videos surfaced online, Mrs. Nwanorue alleged that her husband had already violated the spirit of the oath by having an affair with another woman.
She claimed that a woman, whom she described as her husband’s side chick, admitted in a comment that she had slept with Franklin even after he made the public declaration.
Mrs. Nwanorue further alleged that she had suffered greatly in the marriage and insisted that while she remained committed to helping her husband secure a Canadian visa, she believed he would face divine judgment if he became unfaithful after relocating.
She maintained that her husband had already sworn to remain sexually faithful upon arriving in Canada and expressed confidence that God would judge any violation of the oath.
