A Nigerian woman based in Canada, Ezinne Nwanorue, has generated reactions on social media after disclosing the condition she gave her husband before agreeing to sponsor his relocation to the North American country.
Vanguard reports that Ezinne, who describes herself as a prophetic intercessor, certified marriage counsellor, wife and mother of three boys, insisted that her husband, Franklin Nwanorue, must publicly declare that he would remain faithful to her before obtaining a visa to Canada.
According to her, the instruction was from God, adding that her husband was required to record a video and post it on Facebook and his WhatsApp status, declaring that he would never be unfaithful to her.
She maintained that her husband must publicly vow that if he relocated to Canada and cheated on her, he should die in the name of Jesus. She also said he must pledge to remain faithful to her, be a good husband and a responsible father to their children, insisting that this was the condition God gave for him to receive a visa.
Responding, Franklin shared a video accepting the condition and pledged to remain faithful to his wife, acknowledging the sacrifices she had made since relocating to Canada.
He declared that, in obedience to what he described as God’s directive, he wanted peace in their marriage and promised that if he ever relocated to Canada and became unfaithful to his wife, he should die in Jesus Christ’s name.
Franklin also appreciated his wife for spending three years away from him and their children, assuring her that he wanted the best for the family. He promised to keep his commitment, make her happy, forgive past hurts, and stated that nothing would make him divorce or leave her.
Following her husband’s public declaration, Ezinne also made a similar commitment, publicly pledging to remain sexually faithful to her husband throughout their marriage.
She further declared that if she ever became unfaithful, she should die, while also promising to continue being a good wife to her husband and a good mother to their children. She prayed that God would help them build a healthy marriage and a godly home.
The couple’s public declarations have since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users expressing mixed opinions over the vows and the condition attached to the planned relocation to Canada.
