..Declare Adeleke Political Giant in Osun
Supporters of former Osun State Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has declared support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second-term bid and announced the collapse of their political structure into the governor’s re-election campaign.
The declaration was made during the official flag-off of Adeleke’s governorship campaign at Freedom Park, Osogbo, on Tuesday.
Speaking on behalf of Omisore’s supporters across the state, a prominent member of the Omisore political family and former Commissioner for Education under the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Hon. Folorunso Bamisayemi, formally endorsed Adeleke for a second term.
Bamisayemi said members of the Omisore political family had assessed the political situation in Osun State and concluded that Governor Adeleke remained the candidate to beat in the forthcoming governorship election.
He congratulated the governor on behalf of Omisore’s supporters across the state and said the group decided to support his re-election because of what it described as his performance in office and widespread acceptance among the people.
The former commissioner also recalled previous electoral contests in the state, maintaining that Adeleke had consistently demonstrated strong popularity among Osun voters.
According to him, contrary to the popular biblical account of David defeating Goliath, Adeleke has emerged as the political giant in Osun State.
Bamisayemi expressed confidence that the governor would secure victory at the poll and pledged the commitment of Omisore’s loyalists to work for the success of Adeleke’s re-election campaign.
According to him, “I want to congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on behalf of the supporters of Senator Iyiola Omisore throughout Osun State. We have decided to join the governor and work for his re-election because of his outstanding performance and widespread acceptance among the people,” he declared.
“It is only in the Bible that David defeated Goliath. In reality, Adeleke is the political giant in Osun State today.”
