Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court on Wednesday sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years imprisonment over corruption linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
The court convicted Mamman on a 12 count charge and ruled that the prison terms would run consecutively, resulting in a total sentence of 75 years.
Justice Omotosho also ordered that the sentence would take effect from the day Mamman is arrested and directed all security agencies to apprehend him wherever he is found.
In addition, the court ordered that all monies and properties recovered from the former minister be forfeited to the Federal Government. Mamman was also directed to refund the outstanding balance from the alleged N22bn linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
