Kwara State University has announced the discontinuation of its Top-Up and HND Conversion programme beginning from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The institution disclosed this in a public announcement issued by its Registrar, Kikelomo W. Sallee.
According to the statement, the decision was taken in compliance with the regulations of the National Universities Commission, the regulatory body overseeing university education in the country.
The university explained that the National Universities Commission would later provide directives regarding the status of students currently enrolled in the programme at the institution.
KWASU also reaffirmed its commitment to ethical standards and compliance with policies and guidelines of the regulatory agency.
The institution, however, did not state the specific reasons behind the directive ending the programme.
Part of the statement reads, “This is to inform the public that Kwara State University, Malete, will discontinue its Top Up/HND Conversion programme from the 2025/2026 academic session.
“This discontinuation is in compliance with the regulations of the National Universities Commission (NUC), the regulatory body for all universities in Nigeria.
“The NUC will also give directives on the status of students already enrolled on the programme in KWASU in due course.
“Kwara State University, Malete, is firmly committed to ethical standards and abides by all the policies of the regulatory body.”
