The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence in defeating Governor Ademola Adeleke in the August 15 governorship election.
Oyebamiji stated that with divine support and backing from the people of the state, the APC would reclaim Osun and return it to what he described as the progressive fold.
The APC candidate spoke during a meeting with members of the Association of Mobile Telecommunication Engineers of Nigeria in Osun State.
According to a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyebamiji was represented at the meeting by the Chairman of the Civic Engagement Committee of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye.
The statement explained that Oyebamiji assured residents that history would be made in August with the return of Osun State to progressive governance.
He also pledged that his administration would create opportunities for economic growth through support for small-scale enterprises and the expansion of larger businesses across the state.
Oyebamiji further promised to prioritise funding, infrastructure development and capacity building as part of efforts to improve the economy and create jobs.
The APC candidate assured members of the telecommunications association that his administration would support the sector, noting that telecommunications remained vital to business growth and economic development.
He also stated that his policy agenda, codenamed “PROSPER,” would be fully implemented to improve the living conditions of residents across the state.
Oyebamiji urged the electorate to disregard what he described as campaigns of calumny against him, maintaining that his upbringing and political philosophy were rooted in service to humanity.
The APC candidate further expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious in the election, while calling on residents to support his ambition to make history in the state.
He assured the people that their support would be rewarded with good governance and policies that future generations would appreciate.
Part of the statement reads “History will be made on August 15 as I will be elected governor of the state. I am confident and hopeful in God and in you that it will be my day. History will also be made as Osun returns to the progressive path, and I count on you to make that happen.
“Vote for me and let us make history together. Your support will be rewarded through good governance. I will not disappoint you. Rather, I will deliver outcome that future generations will be proud of,”
