The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has said residents are fed up with the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The party’s campaign spokesperson for its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, Mr. Oluremi Omowaiye, stated this during familiarisation visit to journalist in Osogbo on Monday.
Omowaiye said no sector of the state’s economy is currently functional except entertainment, describing the governor as a dancer whose administration has failed to transform even the entertainment industry for the benefit of the people.
He described the education sector as comatose, the health sector as moribund, and security as poor, adding that agriculture has completely failed under the present administration.
The APC spokesman alleged that the government has not invested meaningfully in education, agriculture, or security, but has instead expended over N92 billion on feeding and running the Governor’s Office.
He said available records show that while only about N7 billion was allocated to agriculture, the government allegedly spent billions of naira on feeding, travelling, and other non-essential activities at the expense of development.
Omowaiye maintained that the claims are verifiable, urging the public to examine the state’s budget performance for confirmation.
He said the people of Osun are tired of the current administration and are prepared to vote it out in the forthcoming election.
He also criticised the tuition fees at the University of Ilesa, alleging that the government imposed high charges on students, with law students paying about N1.5 million per session and nursing students about N1.3 million.
According to him, the development represents one of the highest tuition regimes in public universities in Nigeria and has placed undue burden on parents.
Omowaiye said the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, has outlined a 7-point prosperity agenda that addresses the identified challenges.
He added that Oyebamiji is prepared to rebuild the state and deliver governance that reflects the aspirations of the people.
The APC spokesman expressed confidence that the party will defeat the incumbent governor in the August 15, 2026 election, noting that the party remains united and determined to secure victory through the ballot.
