The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday intensified its campaign ahead of the 2026 governorship election, expressing confidence of unseating Governor Ademola Adeleke.
This is as the Campaign Director-General of the party, Hon. Oluwole Oke, declared that the APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, would defeat the incumbent governor before 10:00 p.m. on election day.
Oke said the campaign council remained resolute and committed to dislodging the Adeleke-led administration, insisting that the party had concluded plans to reclaim power in the state.
He described the removal of the governor as a top priority for the party, adding that the administration had failed to meet the expectations of the people.
The APC chieftain criticised the management of the state’s resources under the current government, alleging mismanagement across critical sectors.
He said the party’s candidate was prepared to reposition the state and reverse what he described as a decline in governance.
Oke further alleged that the government had performed poorly in key sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture and mining.
He claimed that public schools were facing challenges, including inadequate infrastructure and personnel, which he said had affected their functionality.
The APC campaign chief also faulted the government’s emphasis on salary payments, noting that payment of workers’ wages should not be presented as an achievement.
He stated that the party was developing programmes aimed at addressing poverty, unemployment and other socio-economic challenges facing residents.
According to him, the APC is committed to restoring good governance and improving the welfare of the people across the state.
Oke expressed confidence in the party’s electoral chances, stating that the APC had the structure and experience required to unseat a sitting governor.
He maintained that the party’s candidate would emerge victorious in the August 15, 2026 governorship election and be declared duly elected.
