Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, known professionally as Baba Ijesha, has spoken publicly for the first time since his release from prison, stating that human beings are more wicked than snakes.
The actor made the comment three months after completing his five-year sentence in a Lagos State prison following his conviction for sexual assault against his colleague and comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.
Baba Ijesha was released in November 2025 after serving the full term.
In a viral music video released recently, he accused Princess of framing him and warned his fans and the public to be careful with friends.
Baba Ijesha stated that his trust was betrayed, leading to his imprisonment in Kirikiri prison because of a woman who, he claimed, arranged to silence him so his voice would not be heard.
He explained that the incident occurred on April 21, 2021, when Princess, whom he described as his friend and a “she devil,” invited him to her home under the pretext of preparing his favorite meal of pounded yam, egusi soup, and bush meat.
Baba Ijesha said Princess had earlier spoken to him about a job opportunity in a movie, telling him she did not want him to play his usual role but instead wanted him to act as a young guy to take him to another level, which he now believes was a ploy to lead him to Kirikiri and Panti prison.
He recounted that upon arriving at her house, he met some people there and began rehearsing lines as instructed by an alleged director, unaware that there was no movie and the entire situation was staged.
Baba Ijesha claimed that the main offender is walking freely while an innocent man was imprisoned, and that was how he ended up in Kirikiri.
He urged his fans to be careful with friends, stating that they cannot be trusted, to flee from them because the world is evil, and that human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes.
According to him, “He said, “My trust was betrayed, I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman. She asked them to silence me, so that my voice must not be heard. This is how it happened. Please listen to my own side of the story.
“The incident happened on April 21, 2021. Princess she devil who was my friend called me that she’s preparing my favorite food, pounded yam, egusi soup with bush meat. That was how I got captured, the world is wicked. She told me about a job before that day but she said she doesn’t want me to play my usual role in the movie, she wants me to act as a young guy because she wants to take me to another level but I never knew it was Kirikiri and Panti prison.
“When I got to her house, I met some people at her house. While still waiting for her to finish cooking, I started rehearsing according to what the alleged director told me, not knowing it was a lie, there’s no movie anywhere, it was all set up. The main offender is walking freely while they want an innocent man to be killed. That’s how I got to Kirikiri.
“Please my fans be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. Flee from them because the world is evil, and human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes.”
Background of Baba Ijesha’s R@pe Conviction
Baba Ijesha (Olanrewaju Omiyinka) was convicted in July 2022 by a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.
The incident occurred on April 19, 2021, at the home of his colleague, Princess (Damilola Adekoya), who had invited him over and allegedly left the minor alone with him.
Princess secretly installed a CCTV camera in her home and recorded the assault, which she later submitted as evidence to the police.
The Lagos State Government charged Baba Ijesha with five counts, including sexual assault, sexual assault by penetration, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and indecent treatment of a child.
On July 14, 2022, Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja High Court found him guilty on all five counts and sentenced him to five years imprisonment on each count, to run concurrently.
The judge rejected the defence’s claim that the act was consensual or staged, relying on the CCTV footage, the victim’s testimony, and medical evidence confirming penetration.
Baba Ijesha appealed the conviction to the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal, but the appeal was dismissed in November 2023, upholding the five-year sentence.
He served the full term and was released from Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in November 2025.
The world knew Baba Ijesa was innocent, the Court relied on the evidences before it, the police investigator(s) lazily relied on hear-say and didn’t conduct independent investigation to unravel the myth behind the story.
God knows best but my sincere advice to Baba Ijesa is to move on with life and pray to God to expose his his enemies before they die so that one day they will be on their knees begging him for forgiveness.
