A young man in Kano State has reportedly cut off one of his fingers after allegedly being promised N80 million to provide a human finger from a living person.
According to Dailypost report, the incident was disclosed by the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command in a series of posts shared on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to the police spokesperson, the man reported the matter at a police station, alleging that someone had offered him N80 million to provide a human finger.
The man reportedly told the police that after failing to find another person willing to provide the finger, he used a knife to cut off his own finger and handed it over to the person who allegedly made the offer.
He later approached the police after the person allegedly refused to pay the promised N80 million.
Following the complaint, the police arrested the alleged recipient of the body part, who is currently being detained at the Kano State Police Command headquarters in Bompai.
The suspect reportedly told investigators that he did not request a human finger but had asked for the bone from the forearm of a living person.
The police have reportedly recovered the severed finger as investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
