Davido
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has thrown his weight behind human rights lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi’s bid for a House of Representatives seat in the 2027 general elections.
The music star made his support known via an Instagram post, describing Olajengbesi as his “other project” and predicting a “100% winning ticket” for him.
Olajengbesi, an Accord Party chieftain, previously served as campaign spokesman during the re-election of Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in the closely contested Osun State governorship election held on August 15, 2026.
Following the governor’s victory, Davido had also taken to X to appreciate Olajengbesi for his role in the success of the campaign.
Olajengbesi is now setting his sights on the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat, where he hopes to unseat Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress, who has held the position for 24 years.
Beyond his political ambitions, Olajengbesi is the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in the state.
Speaking on his candidacy, he said the constituency was in need of vibrant youth representation, moving away from what he termed the recycling of old ideas.
He promised that, if elected in 2027, he would deliver effective representation and drive programmes aimed at promoting development across the constituency.
