The Osun State Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, has reportedly been arrested by Police.
The claim was made by the spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in a post on his Facebook account on Saturday.
Olajengbesi said Adejoorin, who is also a leader of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign in Obokun Local Government Area, was arrested without being informed of any offence.
According to him, the commissioner was reportedly blocked while driving out of Ilesa, while his driver and security personnel were allegedly humiliated before he was taken away.
Olajengbesi called on the Inspector-General of Police to immediately stop what he described as the arrest and alleged abduction of innocent people in Osun State.
He also accused the police of abusing their powers and using intimidation and harassment against citizens, urging an immediate end to the alleged actions.
The statement reads, “The Osun State Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. “He was reportedly blocked while driving out of Ilesa. His driver and security personnel were humiliated, and he was subsequently taken away.
