Daughter of veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has cried out for help, saying hospitals have refused to continue treating her father, who she disclosed is battling stage-four cancer.
The daughter, Kira Taiwo, made an emotional appeal in a viral video on Monday, urging Nigerians, well-wishers and medical professionals with experience in cancer treatment to help save her father.
In the video, Kira disclosed that her father’s cancer was at stage four and said the hospital treating him had indicated that it could no longer administer chemotherapy.
She appealed to anyone who could provide cancer treatment for the actor, including chemotherapy, to contact the family.
Kira also appreciated Senator Yayi for supporting the family and footing her father’s medical bills.
She stressed that the family was not seeking money but medical intervention that could give their father another chance, appealing to anyone with knowledge of a medical professional or facility capable of treating cancer to come forward.
Kira urged anyone who could assist with her father’s treatment to contact her, her sister or the actor directly, adding that she was willing to explore available medical options.
She became emotional while speaking about her father’s condition, saying she had never seen him in such pain and appealing for help because the family was facing financial difficulties.
Kira further disclosed that her father had expressed fear of dying, saying she did not want to lose him and had never seen him in that kind of pain before.
Hassan, 66, is a veteran of the Nigerian film industry with a career spanning more than four decades.
