Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed his greatest fear, saying he worries about not knowing the right time to retire from music.
In a video broadcast, the award-winning singer said it is frightening to see celebrities who were once at the peak of their careers lose relevance.
Davido expressed concern over the emotional struggles faced by once-successful public figures, noting that if given the opportunity, he would establish a therapy centre to support celebrities who have fallen from grace.
He explained that it can be difficult for people who were once at the top of their professions to adjust after losing public attention or influence.
Drawing a comparison with football, Davido cited his friend Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that despite winning the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and several other major trophies, the football icon was still mocked after his World Cup exit.
The singer said his greatest fear is working so hard to build a successful career only to damage it by staying too long.
He added that he prays every day for God to guide him on the right time to step away from music.
He said, “If there is one thing I could build, I would build a therapy centre for people who were popular and very successful people. Because it is crazy to be on top of the world and the next moment you are not.
“Even in soccer, you win World Cup, Champions League and other trophies and people still don’t think it is enough. For instance, look at my good friend Ronaldo – after everything he’s done for football, they still laughed at him for exiting the World Cup.

“That is my greatest fear. I have worked so hard for me to come and spoil it with something. I pray to God every day to show me the right time to pack it up.”
