Professional bodies, trade unions, socio-cultural groups set to endorse governor for second term.

Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign will formally commence on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as the Imole Campaign Council (TICC) flags off campaign activities ahead of the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
The campaign launch, scheduled to hold at Freedom Park, Osogbo, beginning at 10:00 a.m., is expected to attract political leaders, stakeholders, party faithful, supporters, and residents from across the state.
According to the Imole Campaign Council, the event will mark the beginning of a fresh push to consolidate the achievements recorded by the Adeleke administration over the past three and a half years while presenting its vision for the next phase of development in Osun State.
A major highlight of the event will be the formal reception of more than 10,000 defectors from various political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and other political platforms.
The council disclosed that the defectors include former members of the National Assembly and the Osun State House of Assembly, former commissioners, special advisers, and other prominent political figures. Many of them reportedly served in the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Among the notable political leaders expected to lead their supporters into the Accord family is the Chairman of the APC Elders Forum in Boripe Local Government, Alhaji Kareem Afolabi, who is expected to present over 1,000 supporters from Osun Central Senatorial District.
Also expected at the event is former Secretary to the State Government during the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaji Mashood Adeoti, who will reportedly lead thousands of supporters from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) into the Accord.
Beyond the influx of new members, the campaign flag-off will also feature endorsements for Governor Adeleke’s second-term bid from various workers’ unions, professional bodies, socio-cultural groups, artisan associations, and other interest groups across the state.
The campaign is being launched under the theme, “Imole Carry On Accordingly,” a slogan the council says reflects the administration’s commitment to sustaining ongoing development initiatives and expanding opportunities for residents.
Organisers said the event will provide an opportunity to showcase the administration’s achievements while outlining plans aimed at deepening infrastructural development, stimulating economic growth, improving citizens’ welfare, and promoting shared prosperity across Osun State.
The Imole Campaign Council has called on members of the media, supporters, and the general public to attend the event and participate in what it described as a significant moment in the state’s political journey.
Rep. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Imole Campaign Council, said the flag-off would set the tone for a vigorous campaign focused on continuity, development, and good governance in Osun State.
