A creative organisation, O’da Art Motif, has organised a two-day free training workshop for secondary school students on tie and dye, batik, and personal development in Osun State.
The workshop, which began on Thursday, May 7 and ended on Friday, May 8, 2026, was held in Ido-Osun, Egbedore Local Government Area of the state.
The programme attracted 30 students who participated in practical sessions focused on creative arts, and skill acquisition
Speaking with Amiloaded during the training, the Chief Executive Officer of O’da Art Motif, Awarun Omotayo, said the initiative was organised as part of his contribution to society and to support younger people through skill development.
Omotayo explained that he decided to share his knowledge and experience in batik, tie and dye, music, dance, and art with the students to help them discover and develop their talents.
According to him, the training was not limited to the two-day workshop, as 10 students would be selected from the participants to continue learning for six months free of charge.
He stated that the gesture was aimed at giving interested students the opportunity to further improve their skills beyond the workshop.
Omotayo also advised parents to pay attention to their children and listen to their thoughts and aspirations, noting that many young people have ideas and talents that require encouragement.
He urged the students to remain focused in life, stressing that identifying their goals early and working towards them would help them achieve success in the future.
In their separate remarks, two instructors at the workshop, Idunnuoluwa and Ojo Mojisola, expressed satisfaction with the students’ performance during the training sessions.
The instructors said they were impressed by the speed at which the participants adapted to the learning process despite having little or no prior experience in tie and dye production.
They encouraged the students to remain committed and put more effort into developing their skills, noting that there is no limit to what they can achieve through determination and hard work.
The instructors also advised the participants to combine education with vocational skills, saying both can go together without affecting one another.
Speaking on behalf of other participants, Abdulrasaq Taiwo and Falola Enoch Olamide appreciated the organiser for providing the free training opportunity.
The students said the workshop exposed them to tie and dye production and also taught them valuable lessons about goal setting and personal development.
They noted that the skills acquired during the programme would be beneficial to them in the future.
The final day of the workshop also featured cultural dance performances which thrilled participants and guests at the event.
