A video making rounds on social media captures a tense moment on Abuja’s Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway, where a Fulani herdsman aggressively warned a motorist against filming his cattle.
“Don’t video my cows. You can video me, but don’t ever video my cows next time,” the herdsman declared, asserting that both vehicles and livestock share equal rights to the road.
The confrontation, recorded on camera on Thursday morning, highlights ongoing friction over open grazing in Nigeria’s capital.
The herder blamed rural banditry for driving livestock into urban areas, urging authorities to “flush out the bandits in the bush” so herders could return.
He argued that his cows are valuable property, just like the driver’s car.
