Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged winner of the African Democratic Congress presidential primary election in Osun State.
Abubakar secured 12,321 votes to defeat Hayatu Deen Muhammed, who polled 4,000 votes in the exercise.
Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, came third with 679 votes.
Results released by the committee that conducted the primary indicated that Atiku won across all the 30 local government areas of the state.
According to a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Osun ADC, Oluwaseun Abosede, the results were officially declared by the chairman of the electoral committee, Olusola Adepoju.
The statement disclosed that a total of 17,000 votes were cast during the primary election conducted in the state.
It added that Atiku recorded victory in all local government areas, polling the highest number of votes cast in the exercise.
Hayatu Deen Muhammed emerged second in the contest with slightly above 4,000 votes, while Amaechi finished third with 679 votes.
