Former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has explained the circumstances surrounding his exit from both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress.
Amaechi, now a presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress, spoke during an interview on Channels Television on Friday.
The former governor alleged that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan, forced him out of the PDP after taking control of the party structure in Rivers State.
He also stated that a similar situation occurred in the APC following his participation in the party’s presidential primary, where he contested against President Bola Tinubu.
Amaechi said he was forced out of both the PDP and the APC, alleging that the then president and his wife took over the party structure in Rivers State, leading to his exit, while a comparable development later played out in the APC.
