Hon. Abiola Falayajo has passionately called on indigenes of Osun State living in the diaspora to rise to the occasion and actively support the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for August 15, 2026, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO).
Speaking in London, United Kingdom, Hon. Falayajo emphasised the strategic importance of the diaspora community in influencing political outcomes back home. He urged Osun indigenes abroad to go beyond passive interest and take deliberate steps to mobilise support for the APC candidate by engaging their families, friends, and associates across all local government areas of the state.
According to him, “Elections are no longer won on the strength of candidates alone, but on the collective effort of committed supporters. Our people in the diaspora occupy a unique position of influence and must leverage their networks to ensure that the right leadership emerges in Osun State.”
He further encouraged diaspora stakeholders to sustain consistent communication with their loved ones at home, enlightening them on the need to participate actively in the electoral process and to vote overwhelmingly for the APC on election day. He noted that unity of purpose and coordinated grassroots mobilisation will be critical to securing victory at the polls.
Hon. Falayajo also highlighted the qualities of Asiwaju Munirudeen Oyebamiji, describing him as a competent, experienced, and forward-thinking leader with the vision and capacity to deliver good governance and sustainable development for Osun State. He expressed confidence that Oyebamiji’s leadership would usher in a new era of economic growth, infrastructural development, and improved welfare for the people.
In addition, Hon. Falayajo congratulated the people of Osun State and the leadership of the APC on the strategic appointment of Hon. Oluwole Oke as the Director-General of the gubernatorial campaign. He described the appointment as timely and well-deserved, noting that Hon. Oke’s wealth of experience, political acumen, and grassroots connection would significantly strengthen the campaign structure and enhance its chances of success.
He concluded by reiterating his unwavering commitment to the progress of Osun State and called on all well-meaning indigenes, both at home and abroad, to unite behind the APC candidate in the interest of peace, stability, and sustainable development.
