A 32-day-old baby abducted alongside the mother in Kaduna State has reportedly died in captivity.
The incident occurred in the Mother Cat community in Kachia Local Government Area, where bandits kidnapped the nursing mother and her infant over a week ago.
Confirming the development, Ibrahim Sallau disclosed that the abductors contacted the family and informed them of the baby’s death while demanding a ransom of N7 million to secure the release of the mother and the child’s corpse.
He explained that the abduction involved a woman and her 32-day-old baby from the Mother Cat area of Kachia Local Government in Southern Kaduna, noting that the kidnappers later communicated that the infant had died in captivity.
Sallau added that the bandits demanded the sum of seven million naira as ransom before the mother could be released along with the remains of the deceased child.
He wrote, “Peace be upon you, Rariya. I wish you well and pray that Allah continues to elevate you. The message I sent to you last week was about this woman who was kidnapped along with her 32-day-old baby in the Mother Cat area of Kachia Local Government in Southern Kaduna. Sadly, Allah has taken the life of the baby. They called on the phone and said that a ransom of seven million naira should be brought to secure the release of the mother and the baby’s body,”
