Loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, widely known as AMBO recently visited prominent Osogbo philanthropist and engineer Raji Kehinde, popularly called Aaraji .
The meeting, which took place in late February 2026, has generated online buzz and speculation about potential political backing for Oyebamiji’s campaign ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Social media activity, particularly on Facebook , shows posts and comments suggesting that the visit was part of efforts by AMBO supporters to engage influential community figures.
Raji Kehinde, founder of the Aaraji Empowerment Foundation (AEF), is recognized for his philanthropy, including scholarships, empowerment programs, and community initiatives in Osun State.
Some online narratives portrayed the interaction as a step toward gaining his support or endorsement, with users sharing photos and messages celebrating the encounter as positive for the APC candidate.
However, the AEF Media Team has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that philanthropist Aaraji has declared support for AMBO.
In a clarification issued by the team and obtained by Amiloaded, it stated that Aaraji has not made any declaration endorsing the political group.
The statement explained that some individuals recently visited to express their desire for AEF’s support, but no commitment or political endorsement has been made.
According to the media team, the visitors were informed to present their candidate for a town hall meeting, and further discussions are being awaited.
It added that any decision by the leadership of AEF would be officially announced after due consideration.
The team maintained that until any formal announcement is made, claims suggesting that Aaraji has endorsed any political group remain unfounded.
It also urged members of the public and media organisations to verify information before dissemination in order to curb the spread of misinformation.
Part of the statement reads, “It has come to our attention that some social media posts are claiming that philanthropist Aaraji has declared support for AMBO. We wish to clarify that Aaraji has never made such a declaration.
“Visitors recently came to express their wish for AEF to support them, but we have not committed to any political endorsement.
“We have requested that they bring their candidate for a town hall meeting, and we are currently awaiting further discussions.
“Any decision by the leadership of AEF will be guided by the Holy Spirit and announced officially. Until then, all claims of endorsement are unfounded.
“We urge the public and media groups to verify information before sharing, to prevent the spread of misinformation.”
The clarification has introduced an element of suspense, as initial excitement on social platforms gave way to questions about the true nature of the engagement.
The meeting occurs against the backdrop of Osun’s evolving political scene, where stakeholder consultations are common as parties build coalitions.
Fallout Between Raji Kehinde and Governor Ademola Adeleke
The renewed political interest in Raji Kehinde reportedly stems partly from his well-documented past rift with Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In early 2024, reports emerged of a fallout after Raji Kehinde, a construction entrepreneur and founder of Aaraji Empowerment Foundation, claimed he was approached by the Adeleke camp during the 2022 governorship campaign with promises of contract settlements from previous administrations.
After Adeleke’s victory, disagreements over unfulfilled obligations reportedly led to public accusations of betrayal. Raji Kehinde, who has been vocal online about Osun issues, later criticised aspects of the current administration, positioning himself as an independent voice critical of perceived unkept pledges.
This history has made his apparent tilt toward the APC candidate a point of interest and mild online debate among observers tracking Osun’s fluid political landscape.
