Nollywood actor Prince Eke has criticised supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following reactions to his comments about the current administration.
Eke made the remarks in a post shared on his Instagram page on March 5, where he reacted to messages he said he received from some supporters of the party after expressing criticism of government policies.
In the post and accompanying video, the actor expressed dissatisfaction with the state of governance in the country and argued that people who defend administrations he considers ineffective are contributing to ongoing national challenges.
He also raised concerns about social and economic conditions in Nigeria, stating that many citizens have been compelled to relocate abroad in search of better living conditions, security and economic opportunities.
The actor further noted that a large number of Nigerians remain in the country facing the impact of long-standing governance issues and economic difficulties.
Eke added that citizens should remain actively engaged in national affairs and emphasised the need for leadership accountability and reforms that would improve conditions for future generations.
His comments have generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users supporting his views while others criticised his position.
‘’Nobody that has ever supported a bad government that doesn’t look stupid. A government where politicians openly sexually harasses women and nothing will happen to them. Shame!” he said in a video he posted
”Many of us would not be scattered across the world today if our country had been governed with honesty and vision. People are forced to migrate in droves, leaving behind their homes and families just to find basic dignity, security, and opportunity. Meanwhile, a small circle continues to “rule” over millions as if the nation belongs to them alone.
“Even more troubling are the charlatans among us those who gladly collect miserable pennies and defend the very system that keeps everyone else in chains.
“The truth is simple, the opportunity some of us had to leave and build a life elsewhere is a privilege many Nigerians will never have. They remain there, enduring the consequences of leadership that has failed them for decades.
“Enough is enough. A nation cannot survive forever on silence, excuses, and recycled promises.
“It is time for the people to reclaim their country. Not for revenge, but for responsibility. Not for noise, but for real change.
“For the sake of the next generation, Nigeria must belong to its people again.”
