An indigenous Nigerian ride-hailing company, O3 Drive, has commenced operations in Osogbo, Osun State, with a commitment to providing affordable, safe and reliable transportation services through technology.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr Jimi Oyinlola, disclosed this at the official launch of O3 Drive in Osogbo, saying the idea behind the company began in November 2025 with a vision to use technology to improve mobility and create economic opportunities for Nigerians.
The launch was attended by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Egbedun, government representatives, transport stakeholders, prospective drivers and business partners.
Oyinlola said Osogbo was chosen as the starting point of the company’s operations, but noted that its ambition was to expand to other cities and ultimately establish a nationwide presence.
He said O3 Drive would provide mobility solutions for individuals, businesses, organisations, events and institutions, including regular transportation, premium and executive rides, buses for group movements, pilot vehicles and other specialised services.
According to him, passenger safety would remain a major priority of the company, with measures including driver verification, professionalism, responsible driving and a customer feedback system through which passengers could rate their experiences, report concerns and make suggestions.
Oyinlola also appealed to governments and regulators at all levels to create a clear, predictable, coordinated and sustainable regulatory environment for mobility companies, stressing that the company was not opposed to taxation or regulation.
He urged authorities to deliberately encourage indigenous mobility companies, while calling on residents of Osun State to support O3 Drive by patronising its services and providing constructive feedback to enable the company improve its operations.
“Our journey starts in Osogbo, but our ambition is national. We know that building a Nigerian mobility company will come with challenges, but we are prepared to listen, learn and improve,” Oyinlola said.
He added: “O3 Drive is more than a ride-hailing platform. It is our contribution to building a safer, more accessible and more economically productive transportation system for Nigeria.”
The CEO also urged drivers operating on the platform to maintain professionalism and responsible conduct in their dealings with passengers, saying the company’s growth would depend largely on public trust and quality service.
The Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu, lauded the launch of O3 Drive in Osogbo, noting that the emergence of O3, the ride-hailing company, was significant beyond its commercial value, particularly for its potential to create employment opportunities for young people.
He also said improved transport services could support tourism in the state by making it easier for visitors to reach cultural and tourist attractions.
Egbedun congratulated Oyinlola and the people of Osun on the launch, while commending Governor Ademola Adeleke for what he described as an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The Speaker assured the company and others operating in the sector that the Assembly was open to supporting the industry through appropriate legislation.
