A fight reportedly broke out at the polling unit of the Osun State Deputy Governor and Accord Party deputy governorship candidate, Prince Kola Adewusi, during Saturday’s governorship election in Ile-Ife.
According to Daily Post report, the incident occurred when the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Benjamin Kayode Adereti, arrived at Adewusi’s polling unit.
Adereti had earlier cast his ballot at his designated polling unit, Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3, before heading to the polling unit of the serving deputy governor.
It was gathered that his arrival was met with resistance from some of Adewusi’s supporters at the polling unit, leading to a heated confrontation.
The incident briefly disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere at the polling location as supporters exchanged words and tension mounted.
As of the time of filing this report, the reason for Adereti’s visit to the polling unit could not be immediately ascertained.
However, his presence reportedly unsettled some of the deputy governor’s supporters.
