Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the telephone conversation between President Bola Tinubu and Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, describing it as a historic moment.
Davido, in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, wrote, “I was there live! I witnessed history!!!” while reacting to the announcement of the phone call.
The singer also shared another post expressing confidence in the Osun governor, writing, “We got this @aadeleke_01. God got us.”
Earlier, the Presidency announced that President Tinubu spoke with Governor Adeleke and informed him that he had directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to take steps to vacate the court order freezing an Osun State Government account.
The development was disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on X.
According to Onanuga, the President informed the governor during the conversation that he had directed the anti-graft agency to lift the court order on the state’s account.
The announcement came shortly after the Presidency disclosed the President’s directive to the EFCC.
The EFCC had, on Wednesday, confirmed ordering the freezing of the Osun State Government account over suspicions that it could be used for alleged illegal activities.
The action, however, attracted criticism from many Nigerians, who described it as federal interference ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15.
