Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reaffirmed his support for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, declaring that he and his team would be in the state despite alleged intimidation.
Davido made the declaration in a post shared on his verified X account on Tuesday, where he said he had been focused on his music and album but would be joining the governor’s campaign in Osun.
The singer stated that he and his team were not intimidated by any threats, pledged their support for Governor Adeleke and expressed confidence in God while also backing the governor’s second-term bid with the slogan “4+4.”
He wrote, ” Been so busy with my album n music as it should be but Tomoro we hit OSUN for
@AAdeleke_01 We no Dey fear anything we Dey ur back we believe in God 4+4 any intimidation nah for una back pocket”
Davido’s message came hours after Governor Adeleke alleged that political opponents were behind killings and a plot to rig the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The governor had also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene, alleging political persecution despite endorsing the President for re-election.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Osogbo on Monday, Adeleke alleged that people were being killed in the state and insisted that Osun residents would reject any attempt to manipulate the August 15 governorship election. He also declared that the people would come out in large numbers to defend their votes.
