The 2026 Osun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to sponsor the education of the seven-month-old child of a party loyalist killed during the party’s campaign in Ede.
The scholarship, he said, will cover the child’s education from primary school to university.
According to The Nation report, a truck rammed into the APC campaign convoy in Ede, killing Ahmed Abdulrazak and leaving several others injured.
During a condolence visit to the deceased’s family, Oyebamiji also announced plans to facilitate permanent employment for Abdulrazak’s widow and another member of the family.
Represented by his wife, Dr Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, the APC candidate said all medical bills incurred by the injured victims had already been settled.
She said the visit was beyond financial assistance, describing it as a demonstration of support to reassure the bereaved family that they were not alone in their grief.
Speaking after the visit, Oyebamiji said he and his team visited the victims and their families in Owode-Ede and Ede to sympathise with them and offer prayers.
He said the delegation prayed for God to grant the bereaved family the strength to bear the loss of their loved one.
Oyebamiji disclosed that the family of the deceased received cash support, while the couple’s seven-month-old child was awarded a scholarship up to university level.
He also announced that permanent employment would be facilitated for Abdulrazak’s widow and another member of the family.
The APC candidate extended his condolences to the bereaved family and wished the injured victims a full and speedy recovery.
