Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has declared that God has anointed him to continue leading the state ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Adeleke made the declaration in a statement posted on his official X page on Monday, expressing confidence in his administration’s performance and chances at the forthcoming poll.
According to the governor, divine grace and the support of the people of Osun have positioned him as the “goalkeeper” entrusted with protecting the affairs of the state from any potential challenger.
He maintained that his administration had delivered on its promises to the people through investments in infrastructure, workers’ welfare, education, healthcare and grassroots development.
The governor said the achievements of his administration would form the basis of his campaign as he prepares to seek another term in office.
Adeleke disclosed that he was ready to visit towns and villages across the state to present his administration’s scorecard and unveil an updated Five-Point Agenda aimed at advancing the development of Osun.
He also challenged opposition parties to embrace issue-based campaigns and allow voters to make their decisions based on performance, facts and truth.
Expressing optimism about the outcome of the election, the governor said he was confident of victory with the support of the people and divine backing.
Adeleke added that the continuation of his administration, popularly referred to as “Imole,” remains assured ahead of the governorship election.
He wrote, “Today, by the grace of God and the support of the good people of Osun, I have been divinely affirmed as the goalkeeper to man the goalpost of Osun State Government against any potential intruder.
“I remain confident because our administration has genuinely served the people. From infrastructure to workers’ welfare, education, healthcare and grassroots development, our record speaks for itself.
“As we prepare for the August 15 election, I am ready to visit every town and village to present our achievements and unveil an updated Five Point Agenda for a greater Osun.
“I call on the opposition to stop running away from issue-based campaigns and allow Osun people decide based on facts, performance and truth.
“With God on our side and the people behind us, victory is assured. Imole continuity is imminent.”
